MEMBER'S CORNER

NEWS & EVENTS

At the Moose River Valley Center we strive to create a unique and
stimulating environment with an extensive and excellent selection of
courses. We have a sitting area, a card/game room, a lecture/movie
section, six classrooms and a large exercise area. With the addition of
more and more members, we believe we are fulfilling a vital need in
Jackman/Moose River and the surrounding area.

    MEMBERSHIP
    The most important thing to know about our membership is that it is FREE!
    We want it to be easy for you to become a part of the Moose River Valley
    Center community.

    OUR PROGRAMS
    Each semester we introduce a new variety of programs. If you are looking for
    fitness, art, local history, music or other forms of self-expression, we have
    something for you.

    OUR SERVICES
    Among our many services is the production of our monthly newsletter,
    Center Voice, which highlights the current month's schedule of course
    offerings, events and other activities.

    OUR POLICIES
    Members must be 55 years of age or over (or married to someone who meets
    the age requirement) and live within Jackman, ME or within a 50 mile radius.
    The Center is a social environment and does not provide nursing or personal
    care for its members.

    OUR FACILITY
    Moose River Valley Center boasts 3,000 square feet of comfort and elegance.
    Although finding a classroom is easy, deciding which class offering to pick is
    the difficult part. At Moose River Valley Center, we have a room for almost
    everything.

Senior Center

The Moose River Valley Center. A gathering
place for the area's senior citizen population.
Both educational and recreational activities all
in one place.

Lobby

Be greeted by a friendly face immediately
upon entering the Center. Various MRVC
info and newspapers may be found at the
front desk. Don't forget to check in!

Lounge

Relax comfortably in our senior lounge area.
Chat with friends, read a book or magazine,
or when it's winter, enjoy the warmth of the
wood stove.

Cards/Game Area

Enjoy playing cribbage, yahtzee, backgammon, rummy or any number of other card games in a friendly and cozy atmosphere.
Our popular bingo sessions also played here.

Theater Area

Why travel a long ways to see a movie.
Watch one in our movie area with seating for
40, popcorn and refreshments.

Music Corner

Know how to play the piano? Entertain yourself or others in our music corner. This is a great opportunity to ply those musical hands.

Computer Lab

With four brand new Dell computers, learn the basics then bring that knowledge home. Surf the web, learn e-mail and practice IM in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

Quilting Lab

Our quilting lab offers a terrific setting for beginners thru experts to come in and take advantage of classes and work on projects in benefit of oneself or the Center.

Oil Painting Lab

Have an artistic streak in you or want to find out? Our oil painting lab comes fully stocked and offers a fun and rewarding setting for those who want to paint.
